About Mike

Mike Sanderson was bon in December 1980 in South Miami Hospital, under President-Elect Ronald Reagan. They were president of Palmetto Middle School Computer Club in 1995 and graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1999.

Mike Sanderson’s great-great-great grandparents and 6-year-old great-great grandfather were in the Florida census of 1850 in the town of Ocala, population 243. In 1999 they entered New College of Florida, where they were General Editor of the student newspaper in 2001 and 2002 and elected student representative to the Educational Policy Committee in 2003–04. They were a firsthand observer and participant in the separation of New College from the University of South Florida and the creation of the independent New College from fall 2001.

In April 2006 Mike moved to Dongguan City in Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, where they lived for six years. There they first taught English as a foreign language and were later Managing Editor of a local general interest and lifestyle print magazine, HERE! Dongguan.

Since 2013 Mike has been an iPhone app programmer in New York City. They have worked on high-profile projects such as the launch of Apple Wallet storecard integration for Wegmans’ supermarkets, the first ordering app for Shake Shack, and Gx, the sports science app for gatorade, which was developed with data at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute in Bradenton, Florida.

Since January 2023 Mike Sanderson has been deeply involved in raising the alarm about the scam and false narrative about New College of Florida. Some of their comments and reports can be found at the NCF Snowflakes YouTube page and on the blog.
